When disaster strikes and tragedy prevails together we can all help
Humanitarian aid is material or logistical assistance provided for humanitarian purposes, typically in response to humanitarian crises including natural disasters and human-made disasters. The primary objective of humanitarian aid is to save lives, alleviate suffering, and maintain human dignity.
Supporting humanitarian emergencies demands rapid interventions that are efficient, coordinated and effective. My Wow Factor Charity helps partners from non-profit organisations who work with disaster survivors and others on the ground in countries where emergency relief to people is needed. Our partners have 25 years experience in food logistics expertise to assist people impacted by disasters. Previously, these have included the Japan tsunami, Haiti earthquake, Pakistan floods, Burma cyclone, Philippines typhoon, Nepal earthquake, and now, the South Sudan famine.
The increase in humanitarian aid field worker population is approximately 6% more per year than the past decade. Humanitarian aid access is bad in many areas, whether due to restrictions posed by the Government or by other parties to the conflict, or whether due to general insecurity. International Humanitarian Law (IHL) is designed to balance humanitarian concerns, military necessity, and subjects warfare to the rule of law by limiting its destructive effect and mitigating human suffering.
