Caring for Project Special Needs China will give special needs children a better quality of life and a brighter future, which are the aims of this project. The My Wow…
all children need someone special in their lives
Special needs children want opportunities to be part of community life.
What are the barriers in the lives of children with special needs?
What does inclusion mean?
Understanding the low expectations that a child and their family may face concerning disabilities is critical. Children with disabilities who are supported to be self-determining in the early years are more likely to succeed as adults, to make effective choices and decisions. Let’s identify barriers to self-determination of children with severe disabilities. In a child’s early years they need to be taught to be independent and safe and learn to cope with prejudice. Active inclusion of children depends on each child. Access to education is particularly challenging with 4 out of 5 children who do not go to school living in rural regions. Disability therapies and services can cost a lot of money. If you live in an outer region or remote area, you may need home visits or travel expenses. Loneliness can also impact a child with disabilities. Let us help support carers to detect isolation and to care for children with special needs and raise their expectations.
